Hello Snow!!!!!

Hello Snow! This is the first time that we ventured out in the snow. The last few times that we had accumulation I would ask her if she wanted to go out and play and she would tell me "no momma it's really really cold outside." She refused to even go out in it. But today, she was feeling adventurous. So, we went for it. It was short lived but we had some fun and made our mark.

Simply having fun

We had a fun filled weekend. Libby and I went to the Magic House on Friday. She had so much fun playing with the water, sand, climbing through tunnels, sliding down slides, playing the piano, playing in the grocery store, and seeing Clifford The Big Red Dog. Although she didnt want her picture taken with him, she wanted to stare at him afterward and say "hi" Clifford and "bye bye" Clifford. Clifford was all she talked about the rest of the weekend. She told Tim all about it. You would never guess it by the picture would you?

We came home to make nachos for dinner and sugar cookies with sprinkles. Eating them together was the best part about it. What would be a more family fun evening?

Today is Valentines Day and it has been very family friendly. We all ate lunch together and we all took a nap too. Tonight Tim is making a steak dinner for us. Yum! Looking forward to it. Love, Love, Love these two people in my life especially today. Other things that I love today: movie-This is It with my hubby tonight, beautiful sentiments in a card from Tim, lazy day spent together and fresh falling snow. What a great day!

Thursday Nights

Thursday Nights are beginning to be a fun part of our week. Libby started Kickaroos (soccer for two year olds) last week. Although they don't really know what they are doing or what they are supposed to be doing, they seem to have fun. Running, kicking, falling, stacking cones, and more running. It surely is amusing to watch. She loves doing all of this with her daddy. He is so great with her out there. The parachute is one of her favorite parts. Its funny how we want so much for our kids to be involved in all of the things that we think they "need" for socialization etc. and the things that make them the happiest are just being with us. Isn't is a great thing?

Remembering When.......

I recently wrote a letter to the Govenor to ask him to vote to restore funding to the Parents As Teachers program in Missouri. I was asked by my old boss to do this since I used to work for PAT and now we are a family involved in the program. I was happy to do it. As I was writing the letter I started remembering just how far we have come. I remember after Libby was born and she was getting older- 1 month, 2 months, and so on. Being a first time parent I wanted to be sure that I was watching out for all of the milestones that she was supposed to be reaching. I remember being a little concerned and sad that my baby wasn't doing many of the things that she was supposed to be doing at the times that "they" thought she was supposed to be doing them. What I told the govenor is that it was my Parent Educator that reminded me that this was to be expected since she was 6 weeks premature. She would be delayed by those 6 weeks until the age of 2. This made it easier to accept that she was 8 months old before she rolled over, that she was 8 months old before she was sitting up on her own, 12 1/2 months before she crawled 13 1/2 months before she pulled herself up and 14 months when she walked. It is amazing to me to look at where she is now. She is all caught up and has absolutely no delays in any areas. You would never know that she was premature or previously delayed in any way. That's the way we like it.
Our little girl now is a whopping 36 lbs. She is heavier and taller than most of the 3 year old boys she plays with. She certainly is not fat by any means. She is just simply solid. She is a happy
little girl who enjoys her pudding. Look at our little drama queen. She just might have a future in theater.

Some Coloring Fun!

We had to do some homework for Libby's school for this month. We needed to decorate a heart for Valentine's Day. So, we geared up with markers, crayons, and paint to do so. Libby still enjoys lining everything up to count them. I think that she had more fun counting the marker lids than actually coloring. We always have fun though.

Beginning in the Blog world

Now that Blogs have become so popular and common, my interest in creating one has taken over. I have always kept good records as Libby has grown up, but this could be a great keepsake. So, I will just start here. A great way to begin 2010.
Libby is 2 1/2 years old as of last week. She is surely acting like it too. She tests our patience regularly. However, she also is our greatest source of laughter. Libby still has difficulty with remembering to say please and thank you. So, Tim and I lightly remind her most of the time. Libby said to Tim....more chips da da more chips. Tim said "What is the magic word"? Libby said to him... ummmm abracadabra! It is things like this that are priceless.
Since I am getting off to a little bit of a late start, I thought that I would highlight some of what has happened since the beginning of the new year.

Daddy was working late one night and Libby and I played dress up. This was the beginning of what I think is more to come.

Libby loves to put on our shoes. It doesn't matter what shoes. She has put on both of our tennis shoes, my Uggs, my boots with heels. You name it and she has tried to put it on. She is so funny about it now. She comes up to me in the shoes and says "Cheeseeee"! Little stinker.

Libby loves her favorite friend "Bodi". She climbed into the drywall shelf to lay by him. She actually told him "night night bodii." Too cute.
We have had a lot of illness so far this year. Libby is on antibiotics right now and finally feeling better. Hopefully we'll get rid of the ear infection, cough and congestion soon so that we can get back to it.
